It is with great sadness that IDOC heard from its members that Alison passed away on March. 3.
Our thoughts go to Nigel (husband) and Tam (son) and family during this difficult time.
Alison was a long standing member of IDOC and an IDOC board member from 2013-2019 representing the Asian region.
Alison was the epitome of being an Official. She was besides being a FEI 4* dressage judge also a 5* para-dressage judge, Para equestrian Technical delegate, 2* Jumping steward and 2* dressage and para equestrian dressage steward. She worked hard and devoted for the sport. She had a lifelong experience from all levels, including several Olympic Games, and she shared plenty of her experience with all other Officials. Her always smiling and friendly attitude made all colleagues feel safe by her side. She was genuinely interested in the development of the sport and was part of many World Dressage Challenge programs. A true supporter of the Officials in her region. Giving them the best opportunities to succeed, like a helping hand or as the “guiding light” as some of the Officials called her.
She was not only involved on FEI level, but in addition to her contribution as Official, she was also involved in training officials as a Senior Dressage Judge in HKEF (Hong Kong Equestrian Federation). She played an important part in developing the dressage module in the FEI Solidarity project.
Alison was always ready to help, with a smile and passion that spread to her colleagues. We will miss her dedication and enthusiasm and always remember her as the smiling, good and loyal colleague that she truly was.
Most of her accomplishments were kept very private, but we are sure her Star will shine in heaven.
Rest in Peace.
